Andrew Bogut has played an important part in the Milwaukee Bucks' 92-85 win against the league-leading Cleveland Cavaliers who were without injured superstar LeBron James.

Bogut registered 15 points on 5-9 shooting from the field as well as a 5-of-6 clip from the free-throw line.

The big Australian centre also pulled down nine rebounds and executed a game-high three blocks in the big win for Milwaukee which is currently in sixth place in the East.

Only Orlando centre Dwight Howard is averaging more blocks per game than Bogut in the NBA this season.

Bogut's team-mate Brandon Jennings led the way with 25 points.

Dirk Nowitzki scored 27 points as the Dallas Mavericks stretched their winning run to 11 matches by beating the Chicago Bulls 122-116.

The Bulls had 34 points from Derrick Rose but Nowitzki had the better support from team-mates, with Caron Butler and Rodrigue Beaubois each scoring 24 points.

For the Bulls it was a fourth-straight defeat.

A 38-point haul from Dwyane Wade and 22 points from both Michael Beasley and Quentin Richardson carried the Miami Heat to a 100-94 win against the Atlanta Hawks.

Thirty points from Amare Stoudemire helped the Phoenix Suns beat the Indiana Pacers 113-105, in a match which saw two on-court bust-ups.

In a clash between two of the current weakest teams in the league, the New Jersey Nets were emphatic 113-93 winners against the New York Knicks, with Devin Harris contributing 31 points.

For New Jersey, it was a seventh win in 62 games this season.

The San Antonio Spurs beat the Memphis Grizzlies 102-92, Luis Scola scored 25 points and pulled down 21 rebounds in a 112-98 win for the Houston Rockets over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Australians David Andersen (Houston) and Nathan Jawai (Minnesota) didn't play due to injury.

The Charlotte Bobcats overcame the Golden State Warriors 101-90 and the Utah Jazz were convincing 107-85 victors against the Los Angeles Clippers.
