Yankees to wear patches honoring Bernie Williams on Sunday

Former Yankees center Bernie Williams will be honored on Sunday when his former team retires his number and unveils a plaque at Monument Park before their game against the Rangers, CBS Sports reported.

Manager Joe Girardi, the coaching staff and all Yankees players will also wear a No. 51 patch on their ball caps in Williams' honor.

Williams, 46, was a five-time All-Star and was with the Yankees when they won four World Series. In his career, he hit .297/.381/.477 (125 OPS+) with 449 doubles, 287 home runs, 1257 RBIs, 1366 runs, 147 stolen bases and 2336 total hits. He ranks first all-time in RBIs and is second in home runs, hits, doubles and runs.
