Chicago residents living near Wrigley Field are dealing with terrible parking, eyesores and construction noise during stadium renovations, but all that may be tolerable if it wasn’t for the explosion of spike in rodent activity.
"The rats have been running rampant. I'm not kidding you," Teri Kata, who lives less than three blocks from Wrigley, told the Chicago Tribune. "There are people in the alley and there are still rats running around, and it's daylight."

Kata said she went through a dozen packs of rat poison and another neighbor, Thomas Findlay, hired a private exterminator in hopes of eradicating the rodents.
Blandly said he wasn’t that the stadium renovations are what brought the night crawlers into the daylight, but the timing is certainly suspicious.
"We've never experienced anything like what we've seen the last 12 months," Findlay said. "We've had rats almost on a daily basis walking all around the neighborhood. In the streets, on the sidewalks, on people's porches."
The Cubs are reportedly working with the city to resolve the rat problem, but in the meantime, if you live in the north side of the windy city, don’t leave any tasty ballpark food outside of your door.
