Russell Wilson has earned a megadeal with the Seattle Seahawks, their general manager has suggested in the build-up to Sunday's Super Bowl.

The contract, which most likely will be drafted in the off-season, is reportedly projected to be close to $20 million per year. Wilson earned less than $1m in 2014.

However, Wilson's huge payday will financially limit the Seahawks.

"It presents challenges, there is no question," general manager John Schneider said to ESPN Radio Seattle on Tuesday.

Wilson has been at the helm for the Seahawks the past three years, winning more games than any other quarterback in that span and taking the team to the Super Bowl twice - they will look for back-to-back triumphs against the New England Patriots in Phoenix on Sunday.

"We might not be able to dip into free agency like you may want to here and there or compensate somebody else that you want to compensate that is already on your team," Schneider said.
