White Sox pitcher Chris Sale will be sidelined for three weeks after suffering an avulsion fracture of his right foot in an accident at his home Friday, the team announced on Saturday.

According to Dan Hayes of CSNChicago.com, general manager Rick Hahn said the left-hander injured himself while unloading something off the back of his truck. Sale underwent X-rays at a Glendale, Ariz. hospital on Saturday morning and will undergo more tests when the swelling in his foot subsides.

It remains unknown if he will make his third Opening Day start.

“This is a minor setback,” Sale said, via the Chicago Tribune. “I’m not losing any faith. I’m not going to get down on myself. I’m just rehabbing a foot. I’ll be back before no time.”

Sale previously missed five weeks in April and May of last year with a forearm injury but returned with ease.

Sale went 12-4 with a 2.17 ERA in 26 starts last season. He struck out 208 batters in 174 innings and led the American League with an ERA-plus of 178.
