Lindsey Vonn secured back-to-back FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup super-G wins for the first time since December 2012 with victory in St Moritz on Sunday.

The American put Saturday's disappointment in the downhill behind her to claim a third race win in the Swiss resort by 0.24 seconds – the first female skier to achieve the feat.

Vonn had looked set to win the downhill 24 hours earlier - and continue her flying start to the new season - until a mistake saw her lose balance.

There were no errors on Sunday, though, as she took victory on the 1,950-metre course in a time of one minute 23.55 seconds.

Her 22nd super-G victory was comfortable in the end, with only Anna Fenninger getting close to her time. Austria's Nicole Hosp, back in third, was over a second down.

Kajsa Kling (+1.48secs) had her best finish of the World Cup season so far as she took fourth, with Cornelia Hutter (+1.55secs) completing the top five.

Victory was Vonn's fifth of the season – her second in super-G – and moves her to the top of the discipline standings by eight points over previous leader Fenninger.

Lara Gut dropped to third after failing to finish her run following a fall.

In the overall standings, Tina Maze continues to lead the way despite failing to collect any points from her run after being disqualified, but her lead has been cut to 184 points by Fenninger.

Vonn has now won three of the last four World Cup races in all disciplines and will hope to take that form into the World Championships in Beaver Creek next month.
