The NRL convert was on punt return, and took the ball on his own 30 yard line.
Hayne made his way through heavy traffic, before being tackled from behind and fumbling the ball.
Luckily for the 49ers’ rookie, the ball was gathered by the men in red and order was restored.
It’s the second time Hayne has fumbled the ball returning this season.
