Urban Meyer had to postpone a speaking engagement Wednesday after undergoing an emergency appendectomy.
Meyer had been scheduled to speak Wednesday night at a private event at the University of Findlay, but the school announced late Wednesday morning that the talk had been postponed.

Update on Meyer: we've been told that he had an unscheduled surgery for an emergency appendectomy, which is the reason for the postponement.

An Ohio State spokesman told ESPN and other media outlets that Meyer might be held in the hospital overnight but is expected to be fine.
Nonetheless, the surgery could derail plans for Meyer to throw out the first pitch Friday at Yankee Stadium as part of an Ohio State alumni event in the Bronx.
