UCI to publish CIRC report on Monday

Brian Cookson - Cropped

The International Cycling Union (UCI) will publish the findings of the Cycling Independent Reform Commission (CIRC) on Monday, it has been confirmed.

UCI president Brian Cookson created the panel as part of his successful election manifesto in 2013, bringing it into being at the beginning of last year.

Cookson hoped CIRC would help restore trust in a sport blighted by a series of high-profile incidents, including Lance Armstrong's admission to doping offences in 2013.

The commission was chaired by Swiss politician Dick Marty, while German anti-doping specialist Ulrich Haas served as vice-chair and Peter Nicholson - a former Australian Army officer and United Nations war crimes investigator - was also on the panel.

A statement released by the UCI on Friday read: "The Cycling Independent Reform Commission (CIRC) report has been delivered to the UCI President.

"The UCI will publish the report in the early hours of Monday 9 March 2015. Until then, we will not make any comment on the report."
