Tulloch damages ACL after mocking Rodgers celebration

Linebacker Tulloch completed a sack on Green Bay Packers star Rodgers in the Lions' 19-7 success on Sunday and followed up by attempting to copy the quarterback's celebration that involves jumping in the air and making a motion across his waist to signify wearing a championship belt.

Tulloch landed awkwardly on the turf before collapsing to the ground and, although he attempted to return to action, was unable to continue after damaging the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.

Lions coach Jim Caldwell has confirmed that Tulloch has now been placed on the injured reserve list, but he has no plans to curtail any exuberant celebrations in the future.

"It's [stopping celebrations] not going to happen," he said. "This is in an emotional game, we want enthusiasm."

Tulloch's setback, which is expected to cut short his season, brings to an end to an incredible run of 131 NFL appearances in a row.

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Brian Hartline also fell foul of a bizarre celebration incident this weekend in the 34-15 loss to Kansas City Chiefs.

Hartline completed a touchdown catch that brought the Dolphins to within four points of the Chiefs, but he was handed a 15-yard penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct after celebrating by mimicking taking a golf putt in front of a line of team-mates.

It was judged to be a group celebration, which are against NFL rules.
