Tom Brady Sr. refers to Deflategate as 'Framegate'

Tom Brady - CROPPED

Tom Brady Sr. is not happy his son was implicated by Ted Wells in the so-called Deflategate scandal.

The Wells report, released Wednesday, said the Patriots quarterback "was at least generally aware of the inappropriate activities" and likely knew he was playing with under-inflated footballs during New England's 45-7 win over Indianapolis in January's AFC Championship Game.

Tom Brady Sr. defended his son Wednesday, via USA Today, saying the QB is being hung out to dry.

"The league had to cover themselves," the elder Brady said. "The reality is they had no conclusive evidence.

"This was Framegate right from the beginning."

He added that the Wells report contradicts itself, but the Patriots quarterback has no recourse to defend himself.

"This is so distorted," he said. "To have something come out like this and say it's more probable than not? What does that mean?

"I don't have any doubt about my son's integrity — not one bit. In this country, you're innocent until proven guilty. It just seems Tommy is now guilty until proven innocent.

"There was definitely a sting going on. And as much as the Colts knew there was going to be a sting, they still had four underinflated balls. I just don't know how they can impugn someone like this."
