TCU garnered a lot of attention at its spring game Friday night, but not just for the fireworks and slew of talent.

During the game, the Horned Frogs revealed brand-new Nike uniforms that feature — wait for it — scales.

The Horned Frogs have used the scaly skin details on past helmets and one-off uniforms, but they are going all out with the theme this season.

"The horned frog’s scaly body armor inspires the new sublimated pattern — a digital evolution of the program's existing lizard skin pattern," Nike said in its release. "Covering the entire jersey, and extending through the pant, the motif embodies the fearless attitude that defines both the mascot and the team."

Named the TCU Nike Mach Speed Uniform, the Horned Frogs will sport all purple for their home games, white for their road games and a scaly gray as a third option. The helmets — one purple and one white — both feature the scale pattern.

Whether the new uniforms will help TCU earn a berth into the 2015 College Football Playoff has yet to be determined.
