4th quarter

0:00 - SEA 43-8 - and there it is! Seattle win their first NFL Championship! The league's best defence has beaten the league's best offense in the Super Bowl once more. Manning is now one-from-three in championship deciders, while poor Wes Welker hasn't won one of his three appearances on the season's final day. But to victors go the spoils. None of Seattle's players had even played in a Super Bowl prior to the game. They now all have championship rings.

1:59 - SEA 43-8 - the final two-minute warning for the season. Denver have possession on their own 24-yard mark. And they get the first-down at the first time of asking. Meanwhile, Seahawks coach Pete Carroll has already got his bucket of Gatorade over his head.

3:52 - SEA 43-8 - Manning stays out to play a fourth-and-11, and not only did he not convert it, the Broncos quarterback was forced to fumble by the Seattle defence, who recovered the ball. Comprehensive doesn't begin to explain this performance from Seattle.

5:19 - SEA 43-8 - pictures of the Vince Lombardi Trophy making its way around the field are being televised, in preparation for it being placed into the hands of the Seahawks.

11:08 - SEA 43-8 - some upside for those cheering against the Seahawks for the sole purpose of opposing Richard Sherman. The loudmouth cornerback has been taken from the field with a right ankle injury.

11:55 - SEA 43-8 - Russell Wilson continues to excel here. Starting from a first-and-20 on his side's own 42-yard mark, Wilson steers the Seahawks down the field - culminating in a 10-yard touchdown pass to Doug Baldwin.

3rd quarter

0:00 - SEA 36-8 - the Broncos break their duck on the stroke of the final stanza. Manning found Demaryius Thomas in the end zone, and a great catch from the wide receiver gives Denver something to take home. Manning then goes for the two-point play, and nails it as Wes Welker takes the catch for the small consolation.

3:11 - SEA 36-0 - Russell Wilson shows off his aerial capabilities with successful 19- and 23-yard passes. The latter found Jermaine Kearse, who took a brilliant catch in the hands, shrugged off two Denver tacklers and stormed into the end zone. Extra point good.

5:55 - SEA 29-0 - believe it or not, it just got worse for Denver. After Demaryius Thomas caught Manning's 23-yard pass, he lost control of the ball trying to break past the Seahawks in his way. Seattle's Malcolm Smith recovers the fumble. Then, a 15-yard penalty against Denver for unneccessary roughness is the salt in their deep, deep wounds. Seattle now in possession, at their own 42-yard mark.

7:05 - SEA 29-0 - Broncos have a win, forcing Seattle into a third-and-17 hole they could not escape. Jon Ryan's punt is collected by Eric Decker, who reaches his side's own 45-yard mark. Manning back on the field with it all to do.

14:48 - SEA 29-0 - Matt Prater's kick for Denver is returned 87 yards by Percy Harvin for a touchdown to open the second half with a bang. Harvin eyeing the MVP award after that effort. Broncos eyeing an embarrassing defeat.

2nd quarter

0:00 - SEA 22-0 - Half-time. Off: players. On: Bruno Mars and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

1:06 - SEA 22-0 - Manning steers Denver up the field on his first real drive of worth, taking them from the Denver 33-yard mark to Seattle's 20-yard mark, but the Broncos opt to play out a fourth-down rather than taking the field-goal option and fail to convert. Seahawks take over.

3:16 - SEA 22-0 - Denver dodge bullet, as reviewed play shows Trindon Holliday's kick-off return was not a fumble, as he was down before he lost the ball. Finally, a break for the Broncos.

3:36 - SEA 22-0 - Manning pass toward Knowshon Moreno intercepted after Seahawk Cliff Avril partially tackled the quarterback, affecting the pass, and recipient Malcolm Smith goes 69 yards with the ball, all the way to the end zone. Extra point good.

8:30 - SEA 15-0 - Demaryius Thomas gives Broncos fans a heart attack, but still gets the first down for Denver by the skin of his teeth after opting to evade a tackle rather than hit the gap. Manning then finds Wes Welker, with the former New England Patriot now with two catches for 21 yards gained. Denver on the move.

12:00 - SEA 15-0 - Marshawn Lynch has had a relatively quiet start by his own lofty standards, but he crosses into the end zone for the first touchdown of the game. Lynch has nine carries for 12 yards. Extra point is good.

12:49 - SEA 8-0 - Flag for pass inteference at third down against the Broncos' Tony Carter on Seattle's Golden Tate. Automatic first down. Could very well cost the Broncos four points.

1st quarter

0:59 - SEA 8-0 - Third time, still not lucky for Manning. His attempt at a drive sees him intercepted, on the third-down pass by Kam Chancellor. It was Chancellor's second pick of the post-season, and fifth across the NFL campaign.

2:21 - SEA 8-0 - Wilson finally sees his perfect third-down record for the match ended, with a pass to Jermaine Kearse tipped away in the end zone. Hauschka slotted the 33-yard field goal attempt. First three scores to the team with the best defensive record.

2:33 - SEA 5-0 - three straight third-down conversions from Russell Wilson guides Seattle into first-and-goal territory - the higlight a 37-yard pass to Doug Baldwin. Then, Wilson's lateral attempt to find Percy Harvin is incomplete. Denver coach John Fox challenges the call.

8:45 - SEA 5-0 - Manning's second crack at a drive fails to get a first-down. Denver's punt is caught by Golden Tate, Seattle to re-start at their own 28-yard line.

10:21 - SEA 5-0 - Steven Hauschka steps up to convert a 31-yard field goal attempt for the Seahawks - he's now 7-7 in the post-season.

14:33 - SEA 2-0 - Disaster for the Broncos. Manny Ramirez's snap to Peyton Manning misses the quarterback by some way. Seahawks pounce to force safety. Fastest score in Super Bowl history.

14:53 - 0-0 - Kick-off in New Jersey. Denver receive, Trindon Holliday brings it back to the 14-yard mark.
