The 22-year-old had never participated in a Big Final before, but she rose to the challenge in Austria as she beat Amelie Kober by 0.16 seconds to take the parallel slalom crown.

Schoffmann started with a 0.01secs victory over Corinna Boccacini in the opening round, but cruised into the semis after beating compatriot Marion Kreiner.

Alena Zavarzina was next to suffer at the hands of the Austrian, and she confirmed a home victory in a hotly contested final.

Kober had sailed into the Big Final with comfortable early wins, however she was unable to get past Schoffmann and had to settle for second place.

Zavarzina put her semi-final loss quickly behind her to seal third place with victory over Hilde-Katrine Engeli in the Small Final - the Russian winning by 0.85secs.

The competition stays in Austria for the next round of parallel slalom competition, with Bad Gastein hosting the third race in January.
