Russell Wilson is taking a break from the football limelight to spend time with his second love: baseball.

The Seahawks quarterback is scheduled to make his now-annual trip to Rangers camp in Surprise, Ariz., on March 28, according to MLB.com.

Wilson will work out with the team in the morning and dress out for the game later in the day. He will also have a group session with minor league players.

"From my standpoint, it is a big deal to have a world-class athlete around your athletes," Texas manager Jeff Banister said. "He has done something that each one of these players aspire to do, and that's win a world championship. Anytime you have a guy like that in camp, it is a big deal to be able to share experiences and leadership values."

Wilson also visited spring training last year. The Rangers drafted him in the minor league phase of the 2013 Rule 5 draft due to the impact he could have on younger players, even if he never gets on the field.

Wilson was originally drafted by the Rockies in 2010, but he switched career paths when he was drafted by the Seahawks in 2012.
