Salvador Perez produced the goods in the eighth inning, hitting a powerful liner that allowed team-mate Jarrod Dyson to score the go-head run in Kansas City.

Perez's hit was so ferocious, Rangers' third baseman Adrian Beltre could only knock it down as the Royals claimed back-to-back wins against the Texas franchise in their three-game series.

Staying in the AL Central, Tyler Flowers had his first career multi-homer as the Chicago White Sox trumped the Minnesota Twins 6-3.
