Rodgers and Brady face off, Thanksgiving triple-header starts action

A meeting of arguably this year's outstanding teams pits two of the game's best quarterbacks, Aaron Rodgers of the Packers and Tom Brady of the Patriots, against one another.

New England roll into Lambeau Field on the back of a seven-game winning streak, having beaten divisional leaders by at least three touchdowns in each of their last three encounters.

Green Bay, meanwhile, are in the midst of a three-game winning run that has took them to the summit of the NFC North.

But before the Sunday games even take place, there is the small matter of the traditional Turkey Day triple-header.

The Detroit Lions and Dallas Cowboys will, as usual, kick things off, with the former tackling the Chicago Bears and the latter meeting the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Cowboys-Eagles match-up is particularly enthralling given the pair are tied atop the NFC East with 8-3 records.

Those encounters precede a meeting of two of the league's biggest rivals, with the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks facing off for the first time since last season's NFC Championship Game.

Both teams are right in play-off contention again, sitting two games behind NFC West leaders the Arizona Cardinals at 7-4.

There are plenty of other notable encounters carrying post-season significance, with the San Diego Chargers hitting the road to meet the Baltimore Ravens, the Cleveland Browns taking on the Buffalo Bills and the Kansas City Chiefs hosting the Denver Broncos in an all-AFC West contest.

Arizona are taking on an Atlanta Falcons squad that still have a chance of reaching the end-of-season shake-up in a very weak NFC South, while that division's other teams, the New Orleans Saints, Carolina Panthers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, face the Pittsburgh Steelers, Minnesota Vikings and Cincinnati Bengals respectively.

The Tennessee Titans travel to the Houston Texans in an all-AFC South clash, while their division rival Indianapolis Colts and Jacksonville Jaguars meet the Washington Redskins and New York Giants.

The one-win Oakland Raiders make the trip to the St. Louis Rams, with the week 13 action rounded off when the Miami Dolphins head to the New York Jets on Monday Night Football.
