Rob Konrad’s swim for his life was real, and the details are haunting.

A newly released video shows the moments after the ex-Dolphin fullback swam nine miles to shore after he fell overboard during an all-day fishing trip Jan. 7 in South Florida.

Around 4:30 the next morning, the 38-year-old turned up on the near West Palm Beach, where he rang the doorbell of an oceanfront home asking for help.

Konrad asked for the police to call his wife and tell her that he was okay, as he was wrapped in a blanket and trying to rehydrate while waiting to be check out by paramedics.

The former Dolphin would later say he was stung by jellyfish and even circled by a shark at one point during the 16-hour journey.

Selected 43rd overall by the Dolphins in the second round of the 1999 NFL Draft out of Syracuse, Konrad played six seasons in Miami. He finished his career with 854 rushing yards and six touchdowns.
