Red Sox outfielder Shane Victorino has landed on the 15-day disabled list after leaving Saturday night's win over the Angels with a calf injury, the Boston Herald reported Sunday.

After sitting out games on Thursday and Friday, Victorino (.255/.379/.345) returned to the lineup Saturday but left the game in the fourth inning with tightness in his left calf. He recently returned from a right hamstring strain that also moved him to the disabled list.

"Vic is still dealing, obviously, with some tightness in the calf," Red Sox manager John Farrell said Sunday. "We've put him on the DL, and we've selected Jeff Bianchi, who will probably get here before game time today."

Bianchi, 28, has hit .302 in 17 games with Triple-A Pawtucket this season.

Victorino, 34, hasn't been the same since being derailed by multiple injuries last year. The two-time All-Star and four-time Gold Glove winner was limited to just 30 games last season because of various injuries and underwent season-ending back surgery in August. In total, he has appeared in 50 of a possible 205 games over the past two seasons.
