Former 49ers defensive lineman Ray McDonald was arrested Wednesday for violating a restraining order, according to the Santa Clara, Calif., police department.

It's the second arrest in two days for McDonald, who was released by the Bears following his initial arrest on Monday. He was originally arrested and charged with domestic violence and child endangerment, after allegedly assaulting a woman who was holding a baby.

On Wednesday afternoon, McDonald, 30, went to a Santa Clara residence despite being ordered not to go near the property. The restraining order had been issued Monday. He was arrested without incident three hours later at a nearby sandwich shop, according to the police report. He was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail.

McDonald had signed with the Bears in March after he was released by the 49ers in December following a pair of domestic violence incidents last year.
