Flyers continue dominance in Pittsburgh

Brayden Schenn - Cropped

The Pittsburgh Penguins were once again mastered by the Philadelphia Flyers on home ice, the latter cruising to a 4-1 NHL win on Wednesday.

The Flyers have 13 regulation wins from 16 matches at the Consol Energy Center, and earned the two points despite conceding early.

Sidney Crosby's goal - his 300th in the NHL - in the fourth minute had the Penguins in front, but Vincent Lecavalier equalised before the first period was out.

Brayden Schenn then struck in both the middle and final periods, before Carlo Colaiacovo added a fourth for the Flyers.

The Penguins are third in the Eastern Conference's Metropolitan division, just one point above the Washington Capitals - who occupy a post-season wildcard spot - with five regular-season matches to play.

The Anaheim Ducks' fourth straight win - a 5-1 demolition of the Edmonton Oilers - saw them rocket to 107 points and the clear front-runner for the President's Trophy.

Jakob Silfverberg had three assists for the Ducks, who clinched their third straight Pacific division title with the victory.

The Ducks are four points clear of the New York Rangers in the bid for the best regular-season record, but the latter have three games in hand.

The San Jose Sharks blitzed the Colorado Avalanche 5-1, and the Buffalo Sabres came from 3-1 down to beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-3.

Matt Ellis' first goal in almost one year proved to be the winner, after Cody Hodgson and Matt Moulson goals had wiped out their two-goal deficit.
