Odell Beckham Jr.’s spectacular one-handed catch was arguably the play of the year in the NFL. But there’s no argument that Beckham had the best season on offense among all rookies. The Giants wide receiver was named Saturday as the NFL’s Associated Press Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Despite a hamstring injury that left Beckham sidelined during most of training camp, the preseason and the first four regular season games, he finished his rookie season with 91 catches for 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns.

"Patience, prayer, and a lot more patience," he said of playing through injuries. "Being out long, not knowing if I was going to be healthy, I fought through it and had a nice little season"

Beckham’s final six games of the season cemented his hold as the top offensive rookie. In those six games, he scored nine touchdowns and averaged 10 catches and 140 yards per game. Included in that streak was “The Catch,” a leaping, one-handed 43-yard touchdown catch against the Dallas Cowboys that turned Beckham into an overnight social media sensation.

"When I first made the catch, I didn't know the magnitude would be what it was, and take me to where I am at today," Beckham said.

He was one of several rookie receivers who made the class arguably the best at the position the NFL has ever seen.

"This is a great class I came in with. Part of the reason I came out early was to be included in this class," he said. "Lot of talented guys. I pretty much watched every rookie to see what they were doing, not just to compare myself to them, because at the end of the day, we will all be remembered."
