Norway topped the podium in the men's team ski jumping at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun.

The quartet of Anders Bardal, Anders Jacobsen, Anders Fannemel and Rune Velta combined for a total score of 872.6, leaving Austria (853.2) and Poland (848.1) in second and third respectively.

Austria were unable to defend the crown they won in Italy two years ago, although only Gregor Schlierenzauer remains from that victorious foursome.

For Poland, it was a second successive bronze medal at these championships after also taking third in 2013.

The Japanese team stood in second place - behind Norway - at the end of the first round, with Austria third and Poland fourth.

However, they were overtaken by both rivals and eventually finished fourth with a score of 831.2.
