The NFL could create 64 new jobs for the 2015 season.

The league's Competition Committee has talked about expanding team rosters from 53 players to 55 during its annual pre-league meeting, according to a ProFootballTalk source.

Argument against expanding the roster comes from the struggle for many teams to remain below its salary cap, and the fact its employees will be paid less.

Because the employees who will most likely earn a smaller paycheck are the league's rookies, there are some who argue that expanding the roster will just be too expensive.

On the other hand, the NFL Players Association has a strong lean toward expansion, since more players would mean more members of the union and, in general, more jobs.

Considering members of the NFL have an annual combined payroll of $4.5 billion, the league could probably figure out a way to accommodate 64 new members, should the rosters expand.
