Ben Tate might be getting the break he needs. The free-agent running back is reportedly in Dallas to workout with the Cowboys on Thursday.

Dallas' running game is up in the air after DeMarco Murray's departure to the Eagles. The Cowboys signed Darren McFadden to a two-year contract and expect Joseph Randle and Lance Dunbar to have contributing roles.

Tate has bounced between three teams since March 2014. He signed a two-year deal with the Browns last year but was released in November after his playing time receded in a three-back system. He was picked up off the waiver list by the Vikings but was released after just three game appearances. The Steelers then snagged Tate when Le'Veon Bell was injured before the playoffs.
