Raiders reportedly prepared to offer Randall Cobb $11 million per year

Randall Cobb

The Packers decided not to apply the franchise tag on 24-year-old receiver Randall Cobb, a decision that might burn the NFC North champions.

According to Packer Report, the Raiders are prepared to offer Cobb a blockbuster deal of $11 million a season, more than $2 million more than Cobb was seeking last month.

The Raiders have the second-most available cap space at $57.4 million, which is enough to sign Cobb. His price is reported to have a ceiling of $12 million a season.

Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie is a former Packers personnel executive and would love to have a premier receiver in Oakland, which hasn't had a 1,000-yard receiver since Randy Moss in 2005.

Cobb was named to his first Pro Bowl last season after recording 91 catches, 1,287 yards and 12 touchdowns.
