Michael Pineda held the Mets to one run on five hits in 7 2/3 innings as the Yankees ended the Mets' franchise record-tying 11-game win streak in the first game of the Subway Series at Yankee Stadium. Pineda fanned seven and moved to 3-0 on the season with the 6-1 victory over reigning National League Rookie of the Year Jacob deGrom.
Mariners ace Felix Hernandez registered his 24th career complete game and 10th career shutout Friday night. King Felix allowed just five hits and fanned nine in beating the Twins 2-0 at Safeco Field. It was Hernandez's first complete game since Aug. 27, 2012, also against the Twins.

Impact players
C — Yasmani Grandal, Dodgers: Grandal was 2 for 3 with a walk and a run scored in his second multi-hit game since joining the Dodgers in the offseason.
1B — Mark Teixeira, Yankees: Tex hit his team-leading sixth and seventh homers, both off deGrom, and drove in four runs.
2B — D.J. LeMahieu, Rockies: One of the biggest surprises this year, LeMahieu was 3 for 4 with two RBIs and a run scored. He increased his average to .414.
SS — Jhonny Peralta, Cardinals: Peralta raised his average to .317 in a 3-for-4 performance. His sixth-inning homer was his first of the season.
3B — Lonnie Chisenhall, Indians: Chisenhall had two of the Indians' 15 hits against the Tigers, including his first homer of the season, a two-run shot in the eighth to give the Tribe a 10-run lead.
OF — Brandon Moss, Indians: The star hitter of the night, Moss was 3 for 5 with two homers and a two-run double, giving him an MLB season-high seven RBIs.
DH — David Ortiz, Red Sox: Big Papi was 2 for 5 with a three-run homer, the 470th of his career.
SP — Carlos Martinez, Cardinals: Martinez improved to 2-0 after pitching seven scoreless innings against the hapless Brewers. Martinez allowed just four hits while striking out eight.
Key injuries
Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig exited Friday's game in the sixth inning with a left hamstring injury . He is considered day to day. Puig left after running to first base on a groundout. He was also hit on the left knee by a pitch in the first inning.
Yadier Molina was removed from the Cardinals' game against the Brewers for precautionary reasons after taking a foul ball off his knee. The All-Star catcher is considered day to day .
The Marlins placed outfielder Christian Yelich on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to April 20, with a lower back strain.
The Mariners placed starting pitcher Hisashi Iwakuma on the 15-day disabled list with a strained lat muscle.
Mets pitcher Bobby Parnell, who is recovering from Tommy John surgery, will be shut down for the next week due to forearm soreness he experienced in a rehab appearance.
Blue Jays outfielder Jose Bautista (shoulder) remained out of the lineup Friday, but the team is confident he will be able to avoid the disabled list.
Surprise performers
Good: Phillies starting pitcher Aaron Harang didn't get the win but the 36-year-old journeyman allowed just two hits and a walk in eight innings while striking out six Braves.
Bad: Tigers right-hander Shane Greene entered his start against the Indians having allowed one earned run this season. That quickly changed, as Greene allowed eight runs on nine hits in just four innings.

Rockies Gold Glove third baseman Nolan Arenado dived to rob the Giants' Casey McGehee of a base hit, then stepped on third for a forceout and fired across the diamond to complete an incredible double play.

With Danny Salazar's 11 strikeouts Friday, Indians pitchers now lead baseball with nine double-digit strikeout games. The Tribe led MLB with 72 in 2014.
Nelson Cruz's second-inning homer was estimated at 442 feet, his longest of the season. It was the fourth-longest home run at Safeco Field in the past five seasons, ESPN reports.
Off the field
Troubled Angels troubled outfielder Josh Hamilton could be on his way out of LA and heading back to Texas. The deal is far from complete, but the Rangers are expected to pay around $15 million of the $83 million remaining on Hamilton's contract. The Angels will pay the rest.
David Vassegh, co-host of Dodger Talk, made fun of Dodgers first baseman Adrian Gonzalez's lack of speed, so Gonzalez challenged him to a foot race, and blew the radio host away before the Dodgers' road game against the Padres.

"Who doesn't need a guy like Josh Hamilton?" Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre said via MLB.com . "We know Josh and who he is. I just know as a teammate, if (a trade) does happen, we'll do our best to help him think about baseball and not be a distraction."

Saturday's top three games (all times Eastern):
Indians (6-9) at Tigers (11-6), 1:08 p.m.: Indians starter Trevor Bauer (2-0, 0.95 ERA) has allowed two runs in three starts this season. He'll look to keep it going against the Tigers and Alfredo Simon, who is making his second start against the Indians this year. In his first outing, on April 10, he shut out the Indians for five innings before giving up three runs on five hits in the sixth.
Giants (7-11) at Rockies (10-7), 8:10 p.m.: If you are a fan of high-scoring games, this may be the one for you. Giants starter Tim Hudson (0-2, 3.93 ERA) owns a 7.29 ERA in eight career starts at Coors Field; Rockies starter Jorge De La Rosa is coming off one of the worst performances in his career. He allowed seven earned runs on nine hits in just two innings against the Dodgers.
Dodgers (10-6) at Padres (10-8). 8:40 p.m.: San Diego's Ian Kennedy comes off the disabled list to make the start, his second of the season. He has been out since April 10 because of a strained left hamstring. Brandon McCarthy (2-0, 4.50 ERA) will take the mound for the NL West-leading Dodgers.
