Along with Matt Forte, another big presence has been absent from the Bears' workouts the past couple of weeks.

Quietly flying under the radar, Martellus Bennett has not participated in the team's voluntary workouts, ESPN.com reported. There doesn't appear to be a reason for the tight end's absence, and there haven't been any reports of discord between Bennett and the Bears.

Bennett did stop by Halas Hall earlier last week to see his teammates, but didn't work out with the team. No word on whether he will participate in the team's upcoming three-day voluntary workout from Tuesday through Thursday.

The 28-year-old tight end signed a four-year, $20.4 million deal with the Bears in early 2013. His scheduled base salary for 2015 is $4.9 million, with a $100,000 workout bonus.

Last season, Bennett became the first Bears tight end to go to a Pro Bowl since Mike Ditka in 1965. He had 90 catches, 1,038 receiving yards and six touchdowns in 2014.
