After third-string QB Ryan Lindley failed to score (again) in Sunday's 35-6 loss to the Seahawks, the Cardinals will turn to No. 4, Logan Thomas, for Week 17.

Coach Bruce Arians, speaking on Arizona Sports 98.7 on Monday, said he'll start Thomas in the Cardinals' season finale on the road against the 49ers.

Lindley had a dismal performance against the Seattle, failing to lead the Arizona to the end zone. But Arians said the benching is not a reflection of that performance.

"In no way would it be a reflection of the way Ryan played — only the chance for Logan to show that he can do something. It would be a great hook if it isn't going the way I want it to go, because I do trust Ryan."

Lindley was 18-of-44 for 216 yards and an interception during a loss in which the Cardinals had more punts (nine) than points (six).

Thomas, a fourth-round pick out of Virginia Tech, is 1-of-9 this season, the one being an 81-yard touchdown pass to Andre Ellington in a Week 5 loss to the Broncos. He will face a 49ers defense that allowed 356 passing yards and four touchdowns last week to Phillip Rivers in a 38-35 Chargers overtime win.
