Lightning surge to 10th straight home win, Senators hit seven

The Tampa Bay Lightning's winning home run continued in the NHL on Saturday, while the Ottawa Senators put seven past the Arizona Coyotes.

The Lightning made it 10 straight victories at their Amalie Arena home, the latest a 3-1 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Lightning goaltender Ben Bishop made 34 saves, and his team got enough offence.

Brett Connolly had given them the lead late in the first period before the Blue Jackets tied the game through Cedric Paquette midway through the third.

But Valtteri Filppula and Ryan Johansen ensured the Lightning would win at home once more.

The Senators scored four third-period goals on their way to a 7-2 thrashing of the Coyotes.

They had seven different goalscorers – Mike Hoffman, Milan Michalek, Mark Stone, Bobby Ryan, Jean-Gabriel Pageau, Erik Karlsson and Mika Zibanejad.

Marc Methot had three assists for the winners.

The Dallas Stars scored four power-play goals to beat the Winnipeg Jets 5-2 at MTS Centre.

The Detroit Red Wings made it seven wins in their past eight with a 4-1 victory over the New York Islanders.

New York Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist overcame an injury scare to stop 31 shots and lead his team past the Carolina Hurricanes 4-1.

Brad Marchand scored twice to guide the Boston Bruins to a 3-1 win over the Los Angeles Kings.

Max Pacioretty struck in overtime to see the Montreal Canadiens battle past the Washington Capitals 1-0.

The Philadelphia Flyers edged the struggling Toronto Maple Leafs 1-0 and the New Jersey Devils were 3-1 winners against the Florida Panthers.

Antti Niemi made 31 saves as the San Jose Sharks shutout the Chicago Blackhawks for a 2-0 win, while four third-period goals saw the Calgary Flames past the Edmonton Oilers 4-2.
