As the second day of the murder trial of former Patriots star Aaron Hernandez came to a close Friday, the presiding judge said jurors will be allowed to watch the Super Bowl but cautioned that they must remain vigilant during the game to avoid outside information relating to the case.

Bristol County Judge E. Susan Garsh instructed the jurors that they should leave the room if the trial is discussed during the broadcast of Sunday's game. Jurors are generally required to abstain from consuming any media relating to the trial while it is ongoing.

"I am not going to forbid you from watching the Super Bowl Sunday if that's something that's really important to you," Garsh said.

The trial is taking place in Fall River, Mass., about 40 miles south of the Patriots' home in Foxboro, Mass. New England will take on the Seahawks in Super Bowl XLIX on Sunday.
