Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon faces a one-year suspension under the NFL's new drug policy, according to ESPN.

Pro Football Talk reported Gordon tested positive for alcohol use. NFL Network reported Gordon is subject to testing for alcohol because he pleaded guilty to a DWI offense in North Carolina last September.

Under NFL rules, players with previous drug- or alcohol-related discipline on their records are subject to increased punishment at the commissioner's discretion.

Gordon's three-year NFL career has been dotted with drug offenses. He was suspended 10 games last season for his second failed drug test and also missed the first two games of 2013 for flunking another drug test.

Gordon also was suspended for the final game this season for violating team rules after catching 24 passes for 303 yards in five games. He led the NFL with 1,646 receiving yards in 14 games in 2013.
