The Dane won the 2013 BWF SuperSeries event in style, toppling Japan's Kenichi Tago in straight games, and he occupies the top seeding for the Paris tournament after Lee Chong Wei withdrew due to his heavy schedule.

Tago is seeded second, while China's Chen Long will not feature after winning the BWF Denmark Open last week.

Chen beat South Korea's Son Wan-ho in straight games in Sunday's final on a momentous day for China.

All five titles in Odense were won by Chinese players, as the BWF Super Series returned for the first time since June.

And the positive headlines generated by the Chinese contingent helped the sport move on from recent accusations of alleged match-fixing, which the BWF announced they had passed on to authorities.

China's Wang Shixian won last year's women's title in Paris, beating Thailand's Porntip Buranaprasertsuk without dropping a game.

Wang is seeded second for the 2014 event and will start with a clash against Nichaon Jindapon of Thailand.

Li Xuerui is the top seed and enters in form after defeating compatriot Wang Yihan in the Denmark final.

Li won 21-17 22-20 to exact a measure of revenge on Wang, who beat her in the Asian Games gold medal match in September.
