A second-round pick out of Stanford by the Dolphins in 2012, Martin started all 16 games as a rookie but left the team in October of 2013 after he was allegedly bullied by former Dolphins lineman Richie Incognito and two other teammates.

The Dolphins traded him for a seventh-round pick following the 2013 season.

The next one is now the Panthers, a team that entered the offseason with a huge need at the tackle position. Now, after claiming Martin and signing Michael Oher, Carolina has taken two giant — and inexpensive — steps towards protecting Cam Newton.
