Mohammed Emwazi, the Islamic State militant identified this week as “Jihadi John,” was shown wearing a Pirates baseball hat in a photo that surfaced Friday and the team is not happy about it.

In a Friday press release, the Pirates voiced their displeasure with the photo showing the Kuwait-born militant donning their cap.

"The classic gold P stands for Pittsburgh and is worn by our players, coaches and fans with a great sense of pride. It is absolutely sickening to everyone within the Pirates organization, and to our great fans, to see this murderer wearing a Pirates cap in this old photo."

According to Sky News, it was the first known photo of the 26-year-old Emwazi as an adult. The photo was disclosed in his student records from the University of Westminster where he studied computer science and earned an Information Systems with Business Management degree. A photo released earlier showed an 8-year-old Emwazi sitting with his fellow classmates at St. Magdalene's Church of England School in London.
