NFL free agency begins on March 10, but Eagles receiver Jeremy Maclin is still hopeful a long-term deal will be done to keep him in Philadelphia.

Maclin, an impending free agent, told Philly.com's Les Bowen that both sides have expressed interest in a multi-year contract.

"I've always said I want to be here in Philadelphia, but I've also always said I understand it's a business," Maclin said on Saturday. "Both sides have made it known that we both want each other back, so the rest of it is in God's hands. If it's supposed to happen, it'll happen. I want to be here."

The Eagles have until Monday to place the franchise tag on their star receiver. Maclin would make around $12.8 million this season if that happened.

"It's part of the business," Maclin said of the possible franchise tag. "I'm very attuned to what's going on, I'm very attuned to how everything works. My side and the Eagles, if we're going to come to a head, we will."

Maclin, 26, caught 85 passes for 1,318 yards and 10 touchdowns in a breakout 2014 season.
