The Norwegian, who finished second to Steven Nyman in the downhill on Friday, has a 52-point lead over Marcel Hirscher in the overall category and is enjoying his best World Cup season to date.
Having won the first two downhill competitions of the campaign, Jansrud has also been in sparkling form in the super G and will fancy his chances in Val Gardena.
Jansrud, who won gold in the super G and bronze in the downhill at the 2014 Winter Olympic Games, boasts a victory and a second-placed finish in the two super G races so far in 2014-15.
He faces stiff competition from the likes of Hannes Reichelt and Dominik Paris, who are the other two competitors to have passed the 100-point mark in the super G table.
Nyman received warm praise from rival Jansrud for his "unbelievable run" in Friday's downhill, but the American will pose no threat this weekend, having taken just two super G points.
Paris, who completed the downhill podium, provides the best hope of home glory, though the Italian could only manage fifth at the last event in this discipline in the United States earlier this month, when Reichelt won.
Indeed, Paris has never claimed a World Cup win in this event, but has performed well in front of his own fans before.
His first World Cup race win was in Bormio in December last year, with subsequent triumphs coming at Kitzbuhel and Lake Louise.
If Reichelt can repeat the victory he achieved at Beaver Creek, he will become the first Austrian to win back-to-back super G World Cup races since Stephan Eberharter in 2002.
This is the third of seven super G events on the calendar, and the final one this year, with the field heading to Austria in late January.
