In-form Fenninger triumphs again

AnnaFenninger - Cropped

Anna Fenninger recorded a fourth successive victory across all disciplines with success in the FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup super-G in Bansko.

The Austrian had taken gold in the giant slalom at the World Ski Championships at Beaver Creek last month, and followed that up with World Cup wins in the giant slalom in Maribor nine days ago and then in the combined on Sunday.

Monday's race - rescheduled after fog caused a postponement on Friday - saw her make it four in a row as she closed the gap at the top of the overall leaderboard.

Fenninger, 19th out of the gate, topped the timesheets with a mark of one minute 14.59 seconds, 0.16secs quicker than Tina Maze.

Lindsey Vonn, Fenninger's rival at the top of the super-G standings, was third, a further 0.12secs behind.

Fenninger is now 32 points ahead of Vonn in the super-G table, while Maze's advantage in the overall standings has been cut to 44 points.
