Around 6 p.m. on Saturday, police were called about an incident involving a 24-year-old female who had minor injuries to her neck, according to the report. Police also found a hole punched in a bedroom door.

Taylor was dismissed from Georgia last summer after being arrested and charged with felony aggravated assault and family violence, according to the Al.com story. Police said last July that, according to witnesses and evidence, Taylor had "choked" and "struck with a closed fist" his girlfriend at a Georgia dorm.

Saban still signed the 6-4, 330-pound Millen, Ga., native in January after spending last season at a community college in Mississippi. Taylor also was one of four Georgia players arrested in March of 2014 and charged with theft by deception after "double-dipping" on their tuition checks.

Taylor had 44 tackles (11 for loss) and 4.5 sacks last season at Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Mississippi. Taylor appeared in 10 games in 2013 for the Bulldogs, recording nine tackles.

The arrest follows the news that Tide senior safety Geno Smith was arrested and charged with driving under the influence.
