Since Mike Tyson famously chomped down on Evander Holyfield's ear during their 1997 rematch fight, one burning question has gone unanswered: What ever happened to the chunk of ear?

Did Tyson eat it? If he spit it out, which is probably more likely, did one of Holyfield's people grab it to be sewn back on at a later date? Is it on eBay?

"It probably disintegrated," Holyfield said in an interview with FOX Sports, turning his right cheek to confirm that, yes, something's still missing.

Holyfield is able to joke about it now, and insists that he and Tyson have long since settled their differences.

"I have a good, cordial relationship with Mike," he said. "We know what happened and it's behind us. So we'll keep pushing forward to better things."

Knowing Tyson, he's probably kept the piece of ear as a memento on his trophy case. Or perhaps he has re-gifted it to Holyfield, as one commercial claims. At this point, nothing is out of the realm of possibility.
