McCoy's agent Drew Rosenhaus confirmed the two sides are talking.

Alonso will be rejoining Chip Kelly, who coached the linebacker at Oregon. He was a second-round draft pick in 2013. He recorded 87 tackles, two sacks and four interceptions during his rookie season. He tore his ACL and missed 2014.

McCoy has made the Pro Bowl three times, including twice in the last two seasons. He was the NFL's leading rusher in 2013. McCoy started every game last year, but withdrew from the Pro Bowl because of a knee injury.

The Eagles' running back has been involved in trade rumors, but the speculation was that he'd be involved in a deal for Philadelphia to move up and select Marcus Mariota. The Eagles have reportedly been interested in trading up for the former Oregon quarterback.

Bills running back C.J. Spiller confirmed to NFL Network that the Bills are moving on from him, clearing the way for McCoy.
