Cole, 32, and the Eagles were in negotioations about a pay cut, but a deal could not be reached. The linebacker was set to make $11.6 million this year, and even though he's remained productive, the team is moving on.

Cole, a Pro Bowl selection in 2007 and 2009, had 85.5 sacks in 10 seasons with the Eagles and 569 total tackles.

The Eagles traded running back LeSean McCoy to the Bills in exchange for linebacker Kiko Alonso, and recently released starting cornerback Cary Williams and starting guard Todd Herremans as they look to rebuild the roster.
