The Anaheim Ducks bounced back from their shock loss to the Ottawa Senators with a 4-2 comeback victory against local rivals the Los Angeles Kings on Friday.

Just two days after going down 3-0 at home to the Senators, the Ducks registered their fourth win in five games, continuing their dominance over the Kings this NHL season.

Anaheim trailed 2-0 heading into the third period but struck four times, including a double to Corey Perry, to surge past the visitors and claim their third victory in 2014-15 in four meetings with the Kings.

Trevor Lewis and Brayden McNabb scored the goals for the Kings to put the visitors in control at the end of the second period.

But the Kings had no answer for their fellow Californians in the final stanza with Ryan Kesler and Emerson Etem scoring in the opening seven minutes to level the score.

Perry was the match-winner, scoring in the 12th and 20th minutes to wrap up the two points.

Anaheim (85 points) stretched their lead to 12 points over the second-placed Vancouver Canucks in the Western Conference's Pacific division, while the Kings (70) stayed third.

In the Eastern Conference, the Tampa Bay Lightning moved within three points of leaders the Montreal Canadiens with a 4-0 thumping of the Chicago Blackhawks.

Steven Stamkos scored twice for the Lightning as they rose to 82 points in the Atlantic division.

Montreal (85) lead both the Atlantic and the East's overall standings but were not in action on Friday, with the New York Islanders (84) edging closer after a 2-1 victory over the Calgary Flames.

The Islanders' victory took them two points clear of local rivals the New York Rangers in the Metropolitan division.

Ryan Spooner produced the decisive moment for the Boston Bruins as they accounted for the New Jersey Devils 3-2 in overtime, the Carolina Hurricanes defeated the Washington Capitals 3-0 and the Colorado Avalanche needed a shoot-out to prevail 5-4 against the Dallas Stars, who suffered a fifth consecutive loss.
