Bears quarterback Jay Cutler combined with tightend Martellus Bennett for two touchdowns, as the Bears moved to a 2-1 record in the NFC North standings.

The Jets sit bottom of the AFC East with a 1-2 win-loss ledger.

Cutler finished with 23 completed passes for 225 yards gained, while opposite number Geno Smith completed 26 plays for 316 yards.

Ryan Mundy got the Bears going with a 45-yard interception TD, before Cutler found Bennett with a seven-yard pass for their second six-pointer in the opening quarter.

Jets kicker Nick Folk slotted a 43-yard field goal to get his side on the board in the first 15 minutes, before Folk and Bears kicker Russell Gould converted further three-pointers early in the second.

Jets quarterback Smith made his first scoring involvement, his third-down pass straight up the middle finding Jeremy Kerley for a TD with less than four minutes to play in the first half.

The margin was just four points at the break, but the Bears steadied when Cutler found Bennett once more for a 13-yard TD pass to hand Chicago a healthy buffer.

And the Jets failed to enter the endzone again, Folk kicking another two field goals to tally 13 points for the match.

Gould virtually sealed the win for Chicago with his second field goal of the match, the 45-yard effort making the margin eight points.
