Cincinnati Reds manager Bryan Price lashed out at the local media with a foul-mouthed tirade on Monday, questioning why every selection issue needs to be reported.

Price went on a rant that reportedly lasted over five-and-a-half minutes, bemoaning an accurate report of a player missing Sunday's game against the St Louis Cardinals.

The Cincinnati Enquirer correctly reported that Reds catcher Devin Mesoraco was not with the team on Sunday. Price seemed to resent the fact that the paper was regularly reporting on the availability of his players.

"I don't know what the importance is for everyone to know if we have a player here," Price said during his daily session with reporters.

After a few of the reporters left, Price launched into his rant, which reportedly included 88 swear words.

"You guys can do whatever the f*** you want, but I'll tell you this — I'm not going to f****** tell you everything about this f****** club, because you f****** guys are going to out there and sniff it out anyway," Price said in the culmination of his diatribe, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.

"I don't f****** like it one f****** bit. I bend over backwards to be honest and direct with you f****** guys and you stick it right up my f****** a** — and the f****** team's a**. And I'm sick of it.

"What do you got? If you don't got anything, get out and I'll do this f****** interview with Marty. You don't have anything? Just get out, please."

The Reds (6-7) were on a four-game losing streak before Monday's 6-1 win over the Brewers.
