Wild forward Chris Stewart won't be in the lineup for Game 3 of the second-round series against the Blackhawks after suffering an upper-body injury during Minnesota's 4-1 loss in Game 2, coach Mike Yeo announced Tuesday.

"He's day-to-day. He's not playing tonight," Yeo said after the team's morning skate, via ESPN.

Stewart sustained the injury when he was tripped by Blackhawks defenseman Johnny Oduya and crashed into the wall during the second period of Sunday's game. He missed several shifts but was able to return. Oduya did not get called for a penalty.

"Yeah, of course, at the time we're down, so probably a little more frustration at the time," Yeo said. "Obviously, he was able to come back in the game. It was a scoring chance on the play and we know he gets banged up on the play. We didn't lose the game because of that."

Jordan Schroeder is set to play in Stewart's absence and make his second postseason appearance this year. He'll slide into Stewart's spot on the second line, centered by Mikko Koivu.

"Yeah, I'm real excited," Schroeder said. "It's not about me or individuals, it's about the team. We have to come out and play a solid game to get a win."

Stewart, 27, has two assists in the postseason. He ended the regular season with 14 goals and 22 assists while averaging 15:53 of ice time. He was traded by the Sabres to the Wild at the trade deadline in early March.

Minnesota will host Chicago for Game 3 on Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET. The Blackhawks took a 2-0 lead in the series with their win Sunday.
