Raiders re-sign Charles Woodson for 2015

Charles Woodson

The Raiders announced Monday that they have re-signed defensive back Charles Woodson.

NFL Network reports the deal is "similar" to the one-year, $1.8 million contract Woodson signed last year.

Woodson, who won Super Bowl XLV with the Packers, continues his second stint with the Raiders. He was set to be a free agent in March.

Oakland picked Woodson with the fourth overall selection in the 1998 NFL Draft and he remained with the team through the 2005 season, going to four Pro Bowls and a Super Bowl with the Raiders before leaving for Green Bay. He was moved from cornerback to safety by the Packers in 2012, but broke his collarbone in October of that year.

That prompted the Packers to part ways with him and he returned to Oakland, where the 1997 Heisman Trophy winner has not missed a game the last two seasons. He had four interceptions and led the Raiders in tackles last season. Woodson, 38, is the only player in NFL history with at least 60 interceptions and 20 sacks.
