The Bears are exploring trade options for wide receiver Brandon Marshall before his base salary of $7.5 million for 2015 becomes fully guaranteed March 12, the Chicago Tribune reports .

One source reportedly said the Bears hope to get a mid-round pick in exchange for the 30-year-old receiver, a clear drop from the two third-round picks Chicago gave the Dolphins for Marshall in 2012.

Last year, Marshall had his worst statistical season since his 2006 rookie campaign with just 61 catches for 721 yards in 13 games.

Marshall, a five-time Pro Bowler, said in February he wasn’t sure if he would remain a part of the team after the hiring of new GM Ryan Pace and head coach John Fox.

"I definitely love Chicago, but I definitely understand it’s a business on both ends," Marshall said. "For me, I want to win. The organization wants to win. (Owner) Mrs. McCaskey wants to win, so, definitely aligned there. But there's a business side on both ends, and I get that."
