Patriots cornerback Brandon Browner used to be Richard Sherman's teammate, but any good feelings between the two appear no longer existant.

Browner was asked about Sherman and his elbow injury Monday in an ESPN interview prior to the team's departure for the Super Bowl.

"I'm going to tell my teammates, 'Go hit that elbow, go hit that shoulder,'" Browner said. "'Try to break it if you can.'"

While Sherman's injury is something to keep an eye on, he is expected to practice and play in the big game. Browner did credit him for being tough.

"Those dudes are tough," Browner said. "Watching the game, you can see Sherman was holding that arm like he had a sling on it."

Safety Earl Thomas is dealing with a shoulder injury, and Browner will be tough on him, too.

"You are going to be my best friend at the end of the day," Browner said, "but I know you want the Super Bowl just as bad as I do."

Seahawks linebacker K.J. Wright later told reporters that targeting players' vulnerable areas is "unacceptable and shouldn't be in football."

"We don't go out there and try to hurt guys," Wright said, according to ESPN.com. "And I don't care if they do have an injury. We're not going out there trying to hurt people, and especially guys you're close to. If he said that, it's fine, but that's not our main focus."

Wright added: "If you know a player's injured, you don't try to re-hurt him. You just try to play ball and play hard."
