The defending-champion Broncos open the Mountain West's first Friday night national TV package with a bang: Sept. 4 on ESPN against former coach Chris Petersen's Washington Huskies, the first of five Boise State appearances in the nine-game Friday schedule announced by the conference Wednesday.

Boise State, 12-2 and ranked No. 16 in the final AP poll last season, also plays host to Idaho State (Sept. 18) and Air Force (Nov. 20) in addition to Friday appearances at Utah State (Oct. 16) and San Jose State (Nov. 27).

Utah State, which will play three Friday games, is the only other school to appear more than twice on the nine-game schedule, which after the Boise-Washington game on ESPN shifts to ESPN2 and CBS Sports Network.
